Boomkat Product Review:
There are some things in life which I just feel are quite unnecessary; wasps for instance, who needs the stingy little buggers? And Blue Raspberry flavoured tip tops. blue raspberry? Who had that bright idea? Well The Go! Team manage similar levels of total pointlessness with their 'humorous' cover of Sonic Youth's 'Bull in the Heather', now Sonic Youth are one of the best bands in the world, The Go! Team, well, are not - so you can imagine the results. It's not even that it's hideous, it's just so utterly unnecessary that you're left thinking that the collaboration with Chuck D ('Flashlight Fight') was a good idea in comparison. Okay so I'm being harsh, the album is actually really good fun, in fact it's almost identical to their excellent debut, but that's beside the point - it's party music, and going for a kind of cross between riot grrrl and a NY block party probably works for them...
